🌷 Victoria Park, opened in 1897 to mark Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee, is a beautifully preserved Victorian-era park nestled in the Canton district. Spanning nearly 20 acres, it’s a Grade II listed green space known for its colourful flowerbeds, mature trees, and historic charm. 🎠 The park features a replica cast-iron bandstand, a splashpad with 33 water features for children, and a play area—making it a year-round favourite for families. It also hosts public events, markets, and music performances during the summer. 🐾 One of its most beloved quirks is the bronze statue of Billy the Seal, a nod to the park’s early 20th-century zoo days. The original paddling pool has been replaced by the splashpad, but the nostalgia lives on. 🏆 With its Green Flag Award, Victoria Park blends heritage with fun, offering a perfect mix of relaxation, play, and local history in the heart of Cardiff
