"The Ornament of Bristol and the Wonder of the Age" – Sir Abraham Elton, 1831
Visitors and locals alike will enjoy a visit to the world-famous suspension bridge that spans the Avon Gorge in Bristol. Clifton Suspension Bridge was designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, and its construction marked a turning point in the history of engineering. To this day, its recognisable structure continues to symbolise a city of original thinkers and independent spirits. The bridge is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Crossing is free of charge to pedestrians and cyclists, and motorists pay a £1 contactless toll – no booking is required.
This will make the project searchable under the projects section.
