Warsaw Philharmonic

By Bristol Beacon

The Warsaw Philharmonic have been returning to the UK every three or four years for the last 50 years, such is their popularity with UK audiences.

Poland’s leading orchestra start their programme with their country’s most distinguished female composer Grażyna Bacewicz’s effervescent Scherzo. Chopin’s much loved Piano Concerto No. 2 will be performed by the great Romanian pianist Alexandra Dariescu.

The concert will finish with Tchaikovsky’s last work, his Pathétique Symphony, the premiere of which the composer conducted a week before he died. This great elegiac symphony moves audiences the world over as it represents Tchaikovsky’s orchestral Requiem.
