The 500-mile musical journey starts at the Abbey of Roncesvalles at the foot of the Pyrenees, travelling across country via the great cathedrals of Burgos and León in music whose Minimalist patterns meet the beauty of plainchant and bell chimes.

Nigel Short conducts his award-winning choir Tenebrae – the work’s ‘magnificent’ commissioners – in this Proms premiere.
