Create a free accountSpanish Galicia Symphony Orchestra
Public Event - Posted by Bristol Beacon.
It is many years since we’ve had a visit from a leading Spanish orchestra and we’re therefore delighted to present the Spanish Galicia Symphony Orchestra, conducted by one of Spain’s most exciting young musicians, Roberto González-Monjas.
Three scintillating dances from Falla’s ballet The Three-Cornered Hat start the programme, before probably the most popular piece of Spanish classical music ever composed – Rodrigo’s Guitar Concierto de Aranjuez – is performed by one of Spain’s leading guitarists, Thibaut Garcia.
Ravel’s charming Mother Goose Suite is followed by Turina’s atmospheric Sinfonía Sevillana before the concert ends in a blaze of Spanish drama with Ravel’s most famous work, his Boléro.
Supported by our Patrons and those who have kindly remembered Bristol Beacon in their Will.
